I can only speak to mid-size B2B purchasing. If you’re a startup buying 50 units or a Fortune 500 with dedicated procurement, the calculus might be different. Also, this approach worked for us because we have predictable demand — we’re not seasonal. And I’m not 100% sure about international logistics; we only buy domestic.
